There are two types of pregnancy tests that are available at an urgent care center, including:
- Blood tests

For urine testing, make sure to drink enough liquids before arriving at the urgent care center so that you can urinate into a cup. This liquid is analyzed immediately by a laboratory technician to find a particular hormone. If this hormone is in your urine, then the test is positive, and this means that you are pregnant. With a blood test, a phlebotomist will collect a sample of blood from your arm or finger to test for the same type of hormone. This makes it very accurate. Qualitative hCG blood tests just check to see if the pregnancy hormone is present or not. So it gives a yes or no answer. The qualitative hCG blood test is about as accurate as a urine test.
