How Many Months Is 8 Weeks Pregnant

What Are Some Unusual Signs Of Early Pregnancy

10 WEEKS PREGNANT UPDATE | WEEK BY WEEK

Youre probably familiar with the more common early pregnancy symptoms, such as sore breasts, emotional swings, and food aversions.

But you might not have heard about some of the surprisingly odd ones.

Some pregnant women might have experienced some of these symptoms, but might not have realized they were connected to their pregnancy:

  • Metallic taste in the mouth. Along with many pregnancy symptoms, a metallic taste in mouth during pregnancy is caused by a change in your pregnancy hormones, particularly estrogen
  • Bleeding gums. Pregnancy hormones affect the mucus membranes inside your mouth and gums. This makes the gums more sensitive and more likely to bleed
  • Nose bleeds. Increased blood flow and sensitive mucus membranes also increase your chances of nose bleeding in pregnancy
  • Heart palpitations. Most women notice an increased heart rate during pregnancy, and some experience palpitations, due to the increase in blood volume
  • Dizziness. Feeling dizzy in pregnancy is common, as your blood vessels dilate to accommodate your extra blood volume. This will naturally lower your blood pressure, but can leave you feeling a bit woozy
  • Pregnancy hunger. Do you feel hungry all the time? Do you have weird pregnancy cravings? Keep healthy snacks to hand for when hunger strikes.

Many of these symptoms are perfectly normal, and more common than you might think.

If you have concerns, though, mention them at your next prenatal appointment, or speak to your healthcare provider.

What Are The Symptoms Of Pregnancy In The Second Month

Pregnancy symptoms often become very noticeable when youre 2 months pregnant. Common discomforts like breast tenderness, feeling very tired, peeing more often, heartburn, nausea, and vomiting usually get worse. Your body produces extra blood during pregnancy, and your heart beats faster and harder than usual to carry the extra blood.

Survival Outside The Womb

At 32 weeks, babies reach a mini-milestone and move from the very preterm category to the moderate preterm category. Babies’ lungs are continuing to develop at this stage, and they still need several more weeks to reach maturity.

Otherwise, babies are very much in the finishing-touches stage of development. However, a baby born at 32 weeks will still need several weeks of care in a special care nursery or NICUbut the survival rate for babies born at this stage is 99%.

Weeks Pregnant: Baby Development

  • Up and running: All those little systems are now officially developing.
  • This will get you thinking: Did you know that your babys cerebral cortex is forming? Its the center of the brain that handles higher order functions like information processing. The neurons are growing rapidly to connect with the nervous system.
  • Stretch: Your baby is now stretching out as their arms and legs lengthen, and their tiny fingers and toes are forming out of the webbing of their little hands and feet.
  • Baby’s working hard: The tiny heart in there is now beating 150 times a minute, or almost double your heart rate.
  • Still pretty tiny: Wondering what your baby looks like at eight weeks? They are the size of a raspberry and resemble a tadpole.
  • Technical terms: At this early stage of pregnancy, baby is not yet considered an eight-week-old fetus. Size-wise and time-wise, your little one is an embryo.

What Happens Right After Conception

Pin on Pregged Pregnancy Articles

Within 24 hours after fertilization, the egg begins rapidly dividing into many cells. It remains in the fallopian tube for about three days after conception. Then the fertilized egg continues to divide as it passes slowly through the fallopian tube to the uterus. Once there, its next job is to attach to the endometrium. This is called implantation.

Before implantation though, the blastocyte breaks out of its protective covering. When the blastocyte makes contact with the endometrium, the two exchange hormones to help the blastocyte attach. Some women notice spotting during the one or two days when implantation happens. This is normal and isnt something you should worry about. At this point, the endometrium becomes thicker and the cervix is sealed by a plug of mucus.

Within three weeks, the blastocyte cells ultimately form a little ball, or an embryo. By this time, the babys first nerve cells have formed.

Your developing baby has already gone through a few name changes in the first few weeks of pregnancy. Generally, your baby will be called an embryo from conception until the eighth week of development. After the eighth week, the baby will be called a fetus until its born.

The day your baby is due is called the estimated due date . Only about 1 in 20 women give birth on their due dates. Still, the EDD is useful for a number of reasons. It determines your fetus’s gestational age throughout pregnancy so that the fetus’s growth can be tracked. It also provides a timeline for certain tests that you will have throughout your pregnancy.

  • How is my estimated due date calculated?

Your EDD is calculated from the first day of your LMP. But when the date of the LMP is uncertain, an ultrasound exam may be done during the first trimester to estimate the due date. If you have had in vitro fertilization , the EDD is set by the age of the embryo and the date that the embryo is transferred to the uterus.

Everyone will put on weight differently during pregnancy.

Some people will put on weight quickly during early pregnancy, while others will actually lose weight in the first trimester. Some will put on more weight in the second or third trimester.

Try not to compare yourself with others. Spend more time focusing on making healthy choices where you can, and less time stepping on the scales.

Why Is Pregnancy Calculated From Your Last Period

Why start the clock on pregnancy before sperm even meets egg ? The LMP is simply a more reliable day to date a pregnancy from. Even if youre a master of cervical mucus and are sure about the day you ovulated as well as the day you had sex, you probably cant pinpoint the exact moment of conception.
