- Food aversions: If you cant stand the break room thanks to all the smells wafting from the fridge and microwave, pack your lunch in a cooler or lunch box with reusable ice packs. And if you dont have a private space to eat at your desk, find a bench outside. Youll not only get a break but some fresh air too.
- Extreme fatigue: The typical mid-afternoon fatigue is even more brutal when youre pregnant. Use your afternoon break to take a quick walk outside. The fresh air and light exercise can help give you a boost of energy that can perk you right up.
- Pregnancy nausea: If youre struggling with morning sickness or pregnancy nausea, keep palatable snacks in your desk at work to keep your stomach from fully emptying, or suck on pregnancy pops throughout the day.

As stated, there is a higher chance of miscarriage in the first 12 weeks, which is why some mums prefer to wait until then. Many believe it’s easier to tell only their closest friends and family of a miscarriage, rather than everyone else.
However, a few points to consider:
I’ve had two miscarriages in my first trimester. After the first, you find out how common a miscarriage can be and so to avoid having to let everyone know I had a miscarriage, it was easier to wait with my second.
Give yourself time to enjoy the special news before telling everyone. Its a special time and kind of fun having a secret from the world.
Any time thats right for you is right. A lot of parents are a bit more confident in the second trimester. After a miscarriage, I was very hesitant to announce too soon.
Any pregnancy should be recognised, celebrated, and grieved if need be. The notion of making women believe they have to wait until 12 weeks disregards all those babes who werent ready for earth and grew their wings before the 12 week mark. Ultimately, the decision is up to the parents, but no one should be made to feel its too early to honour the new life theyve created.

How Long Does It Take Hcg Levels To Be Detected By Home Pregnancy Tests
Pregnancy doesn’t necessarily start the day that two people have sex. An egg can be fertilized by sperm up to six days after intercourse.5 And then, it can take between six and ten days for the egg to implant itself in the uterus.
The hormone that home pregnancy tests look for starts being released from when the fertilized egg implants itself, which is why you have to wait for them to be effective.
According to the American Pregnancy Association, HCG is made by cells formed in the placenta, which nourishes the egg after it is has implanted itself in the wall of the uterus.4
Levels of HCG can be detected by two kinds of tests:5
- Blood testâaccurate as early as 11 days after conception
- Urine testâaccurate as early as 12 to 14 days after conception
So, if you don’t know when your period is supposed to start and you think you might be pregnant, you should test about two weeks after you had sex and possibly conceived.5
If it’s negative and your period still hasn’t come and you still think you might be pregnant, test again in another week.
Alternatives To The Bleach Pregnancy Test
If you suspect you might be pregnant, a home pregnancy test may be a more reliable solution than a bleach pregnancy test. You’ll likely get the most accurate results if you wait to take the test until the first day after your first missed period.
Most pregnancy tests will have you place the end of the dipstick in your urine stream. A few minutes later, the dipstick will show the results as a plus or minus sign, one or two lines, or the words pregnant or not pregnant.
