Are Home Pregnancy Tests The Best Way To Check For An Early Pregnancy
Home pregnancy tests are generally very reliable. These tests involve urinating on a small test strip and then waiting for a symbol to appear in the result window. This window will usually show a test image . This symbol appears first and means that the test is working. Always check the packaging and instructions of your test to make sure it is working correctly. Within a few minutes, the test will show either a positive result or a negative result. Some digital tests will display a word or phrase .
Blood tests for a possible pregnancy are done in your healthcare providers office. This version of the test looks for hCG in your blood. You still need to wait for hCG to build up in your body before taking this type of pregnancy test. Your healthcare provider may recommend this option in some cases. Call your provider if you suspect youre pregnant and discuss the best type of test.
You Can’t Stop Weeping
Crying at the smallest thing? Then suddenly laughing? Pregnancy mood swings are caused by the surge of hormones. This generally settles as the pregnancy goes on, but although much rarer than postnatal depression, prenatal depression can occur. Hormonal sensitivity and a history of depression and other factors are likely to combine to make some women more vulnerable. Try and find ways to de-stress. If youre struggling, do talk to your doctor, midwife or a mental health specialist.

When Will You Experience Pregnancy Symptoms
One factor to consider is the fact that many of the earliest signs of pregnancy are the same symptoms you might have right before your period.
With that in mind, you probably won’t experience significant symptoms before your missed period. Most classic pregnancy symptoms dont start until one or two weeks after conception at the very earliest. Many women dont notice anything until one or two weeks after their missed period .
Can Straining To Poop Cause Miscarriage
In particular, miscarriage is not caused by lifting, straining, working too hard, constipation, straining at the toilet, sex, eating spicy foods or taking normal exercise. There is also no proof that waiting for a certain length of time after a miscarriage improves your chances of having a healthy pregnancy next time.
Your Body: 5 Weeks Pregnant Symptoms
Howd you first know you were pregnant? Some people realize theyre dead tired at 7 pm. Others weep openly while watching a TV commercial. According to a survey, though, the the most common first signs of pregnancy people reported were missing their period, nausea and a change in their breasts . Morning sickness and fatigue, breast tenderness are among the most common symptoms of early pregnancy, says Dr. Langdon. So, if youre experiencing any of those, youre definitely not alone.
Here are some other things you may be experiencing at 5 weeks pregnant.
- Rising hCG levels:At-home pregnancy tests are pretty reliable after the first day of your missed period. They measure the level of the pregnancy hormone human chorionic gonadotropin , which is doubling every day.
- Sore boobs: Those hormones are kicking into high gear to get your uterus started on making a baby, and this can cause really tender breasts.
- Mood swings: The ups and downs tend to be most intense during the first trimester and postpartum, as hormone levels undergo big changes. Be gentle on yourselfeating right and getting enough rest can helpand remember that this pregnancy symptom will pass.
- No symptoms: If youre 5 weeks pregnant with no symptoms, theres a chance nausea and fatigue will hit over the next few weeks. But there are also some parents-to-be who never get morning sickness at all. It all depends on your body some people have no real symptoms beyond a growing belly the entire pregnancy.

When Will My Stomach Get Hard
When your stomach expands and feels hard, the answer may be as simple as overeating or consuming carbonated drinks, which is easy to cure.If this is the case, it is important to avoid these behaviors. There are also potentially more severe reasons, such as an inflammatory bowel illness.
A sore stomach may be the consequence of consuming carbonated beverages too rapidly, which can cause gas to build up in the stomach.
You Experience A Mini Early Period
Also known as spotting, a light period that lasts for a couple of days could be a confusing sign you’re pregnant. That’s because five to 10 days after your egg and his sperm rendezvous in your fallopian tube, the fertilized egg burrows into the lining of your uterus. This could lead to light bleeding that makes you think you’ve got your period. Not everyone who’s pregnant will spot. But everyone who is pregnant will miss their next scheduled period after spotting. So look out for the combo: spotting and a cycle that’s mysteriously absent.

Loss Of Appetite For Favourite Foods
Pregnancy can really mess with your eating habits, thats for sure. As well as pregnancy symptoms such ascraving foods you may not usually like, you can actually lose a taste for some foods and drinks that are usually a big part of your normal diet, sometimes put off by their smell. People sometimes go off staples such as coffee, tea, or fatty foods. Changes in tastes and a heightened sense of smell are very common and can persist throughout pregnancy but do tend to be strongest early on, Dr Knight explained.
What else could it be?
People often experience a loss in appetite when theyre feeling anxious or stressed. This is because anxiety triggers emotional and psychological changes in your body to help you deal with the pressure. These triggers can often affect the stomach and digestive tract and can make you lose your appetite. When youre feeling more relaxed, your appetite should return back to normal.
I went off coffee. Which, considering I was a three-cups-before-noon girl, this was a huge sign that something had changed for me, even before I took a test this kick-started my suspicions.

Spotting Or Light Bleeding
Its not unusual at all to have light spotting or bleeding in early pregnancy in fact, it can occur in around 20% of pregnancies.
Dr Larisa explains the science behind it: “This is one of the earliest signs of pregnancy and is usually associated with ‘implantation bleeding‘ when the fertilized egg or embryo attaches to the wall of the uterus. The embryo usually implants between 6 to 12 days after conception.
“Not all women will get spotting though, so dont worry its not a reflection of how successful the implantation has been!”
Forum mum xFran82x says she had implantation bleeding 8 days after ovulating. “I had some watery pink discharge when I wiped a few times,” she says, “and then found 2 dots of brown blood on my pants. I tested the next afternoon and got a faint positive result.”
And it was similar for BabyGirlsMummy: “I had a regular 28 day cycle and the implantation bleeding was about a week before Id have expected my period. Mine was some pink cervical mucus for a couple of days enough that I needed a panty liner.”
If you do bleed, our expert say you should definitely get anything unusual checked out by your doctor. “In most cases, spotting is nothing to worry about,” says Dr Amin, “but it can be a sign of something more serious like an ectopic pregnancy or miscarriage. If you experience any bleeding thats not normal for you, seek immediate medical attention.”

I Had To Lay Down In The Aisle At Target
“I knew I was pregnant when I was shopping at Target with my one-year-old and suddenly felt so dizzy and hot that I had to lay down and sprawl out on the floor to prevent myself from passing out and hitting the ground hard. Luckily, my toddler wasn’t scared because she thought Mommy was playing a fun game! Needless to say, that kind of behavior wasn’t normal for me, so we ended up buying pregnancy tests during that shopping trip. They turned out to be positive.”
