How To Calculate A Menstrual Cycle And Menstrual Period
The menstrual cycle begins on the first day of your period. In other words, day one of the cycle is the day one of your period, cycle day two is the second day of your period and so on. In general, bleeding is there for three to five days and differs from one woman to another.
An important point to note is that the cycle begins from the day of your regular bleeding but not spotting. For instance, you started spotting on March 3, but the actual bleeding began a day later. So the first day of your menstrual cycle is March 4. Let’s say you bleed for five days, so, the duration of your menstrual period is five days for the month of March.
Now, if your next period started on April 2, then your menstrual cycle length is the number of days from March 4 to April 1 , which is 29 days. You should not count the first day of your next period because that day will fall under the next menstrual cycle.

When Am I Most Fertile
The most fertile time in your cycle are the days leading up to ovulation, before the egg is released from the ovary. After ovulation the egg survives for just 24 hours, while sperm retain fertilising capability for two to three days in the fallopian tubes. For this reason, we recommend that couples have sexual intercourse every two days throughout the females Fertile Window. This means that sperm are ready and waiting for the egg when the female ovulates. If you wait until after the female has ovulated before you have sex, you will most likely have missed the opportunity for conception that month.
Next Lets Talk About Pregnancy Symptoms
Im going to come right out and say you shouldnt consider pregnancy symptoms at all, in my opinion. They are irrelevant this early, but then, I do have a quiz on early symptoms of pregnancy here, so why the hypocrisy there? You will not have pregnancy symptoms before you are pregnant. Period. This falls back into timing.
After sperm meets egg, it takes 6 to 12 days for that fertilized egg to find its way to the uterus and implant. Until that egg implants, you arent pregnant. There are no pregnancy hormones. Your symptoms arent pregnancy-related. You may now be thinking to yourself, puh, this lady dont know Jack or his sister Sallys ovaries, because Ive had pregnancy symptoms before a missed period before. The thing is, one of the major players in all those fun pregnancy side effects is progesterone, and progesterone is actually present in the body before pregnancy. Its production is super-charged by ovulation, and its purpose is to maintain a pregnancy. So, if you dont get pregnant, it drops, and you get a period. If you do, it continues to rise. A high progesterone cycle will mimic the symptoms of pregnancy from nausea to gas.
