- dry skin
People with preexisting skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, or rosacea may also experience a change in their symptoms .

Skincare Product Ingredients To Avoid During Pregnancy
Below is a general list of skincare products you should try and avoid during pregnancy. That being said, we cant all be perfect, but its good to pay attention to labels when purchasing soaps, shampoos, conditioners, laundry detergent, hairspray, dish soap, lotions, perfumes, and basically anything that comes into contact with your skin. These are ingredients that are so called no-nos during pregnancy:
- Aluminum chloride hexahydrate
- Chemical sunscreens
- Retinol products
- Thioglycolic acid
- Stearic Acid
What To Avoid During Pregnancy
In general during pregnancy you should to avoid all Retinol/Retinoids, Salicylic Acid , and Hydroquinone . No Botox, Fillers or Latisse either. And when I tried to book a body scrub at a spa during vacation, they denied this pregnant mama. Why??? Are you going to scrub the baby out of me? Ridiculous. Anyway, foregoing my usual anti-aging staples could mean a sad state of affairs for my skin, but Ive developed a routine that has surprisingly kept my face together this whole pregnancy.

Is It Okay To Dye Your Hair While Pregnant
During the first trimester, its best to avoid. You also want to make sure you arent bleaching your hair at any point during your pregnancy. I went back to doing biolage and made sure that none of the dyes ever touched my roots . Check out this article for more helpful info on dyeing your hair during pregnancy.
What To Use For Breakouts During Pregnancy
I recommend using a product like Thayers witch hazel with Rose to dry out and calm the area down , and then ice the zit so the swelling goes down. Then you can cover the zit with the Cocokind x ShuttheKaleup Sea Kale Clay Mask and allow to sit for 20 minutes to further dry out the area and release toxins. Avoid makeup on the area as much as possible, and limit washing your face to 1-2x per day.

What Are The Different Forms Of Vitamin C Within Powerful
There are actually several different forms of Vitamin C that are used in skincare formulas. Vitamin Cg, or Ascorbyl Glucoside, is a potent derivative of Vitamin C that provides antioxidant protection and helps to minimize the visible signs of aging. Our Vitamin C serum is formulated with 2% Vitamin Cg to help enhance the efficacy of Vitamin C benefits over time. While they have overlapping benefits, Pure Vitamin C is absorbed into skin and starts working immediately upon contact while Vitamin Cg activates once absorbed into the upper layers of skin to boost Vitamin C activity over time. Kiehls Vitamin C serums and formulas effectively incorporate a form of topical Vitamin C that is carefully selected to maximize its targeted efficacy.

Lip Care Tips & Tricks:
The more drier months of fall and winter are fast approaching, which means dry skin and dry lips. Here are 5 ways to nourish and protect your pout.
* Stay HYDRATED!! Drinking enough water each day works miracles on the body. Your lips and skin will thank you later.
* Remove your makeup each night, even on the lip area. Your lips and the pore area around the mouth need to breathe at night too.
* Exfoliate your lips once a week to remove dead skin than can lead to infection. You can buy a lip scrub or make your own with vitamin E oil and sea salt .
* Keep your lips hydrated day and night. Look for a day lip balm that has a good combination of hyaluronic acid or glycerin and beeswax or shea butter. If you lack one then you might see a more drying effect which is opposite of your aim. Avoid ingredients like petroleum jelly, mineral oil, phenol, and synthetic fragrances. Also, don’t forget to include a lip balm with SPF . For night time use, I highly recommend a small dap of coconut oil. I also love to include a weekly lip mask for a surge of hydration.
* Lastly, avoid open mouth breathing and lip licking. Continuous air flow over your lips can be very drying. To solve the problem, most people lick their lips for hydration yet fail to realize saliva is very drying.

* Overall smooth, bright and replenished skin

Speed Cell Turnover Safely
Since I cant use my usual retinoids to speed cell turnover and promote collagen production , I have been relying on totally safe glycolic acid and lactic acid to keep me glowy. These acids exfoliate the skin, helping skincare products penetrate better, making pores appear smaller, and keeping dark spots at bay.
I LOVE this Glytone Mini Peel Gel, a mask that works like a quick at-home glycolic peel. I apply on clean skin in the morning and leave on 10-15 minutes once or twice a week. The one caveat is that you need to moisturize really well afterwards because it can be a tad drying, but your skin will look insane good. If I have time I like to follow up the Glytone mask with a hydrating mask, like the GlamGlow ThirstyMud or the Peter Thomas Roth Rose Stem Cell Gel Mask . If my skin still feels a little tight that evening, after cleansing I apply the ultra-moisturizing Cosmedix Rescue Balm and sleep in it
I also use a serum with lactic acid every two nights or so: Good Genes from Sunday Riley. Lactic Acid is safe and clinically proven to refine skin texture and help with dark spots . Good Genes is pricey but it tingles like its working and the glowy results are pretty immediate! It takes a really great product to keep me from returning it, especially if it is pricey, so it says a lot that I kept this one and now Im 3/4 through the bottle!

How Do I Use Midnight Recovery Concentrate
Kiehls recommends using 2-3 drops of the concentrate at night before you go to bed. It should absorb quickly enough, so you dont have to worry about staining your pillow with an imprint of your face.
While its chiefly a nighttime product, you can use 1-2 drops during the day if you have very dry skin. It wont protect you from environmental factors, so be sure to pair it up with a dedicated protective day cream as well.
First And Second Trimester Skin Routine
When I first discovered that I was pregnant I read numerous articles on how it was important to review what pregnant ladies were putting in and onto their bodies, and I became mindful that some of the whacky asian skin care products that I was originally using would not be great for Baby HD. For this reason I decided to strip back my skincare routine, did my research, and replaced my products where I could, with natural, gentle alternatives. From another article I read on the web, I had heard that Kiehls Ultra range was good for expectant mothers as it was a very simple, gentle, but affective range. I went to my local branch and had a skin consultation and came away with some essential skincare products from this range. As I got into my 5th month of pregnancy I felt a bit more confident in introducing back into my routine a few more stronger/indulgent products such as the Pixi Glow Tonic, Kiehls Midnight Recovery Botanical Cleansing Oil and Midnight Recovery Concentrate. The Pixi Glow Tonic is a mild glycolic acid which is safe to use during pregnancy, however the Kiehls Midnight range is said to not be that suitable for pregnancy due to its use of lavender essential oil . For me I havent had any side effects as the amount I use on my face is very minimal and its a nice little luxury for me to add to my boring day.

Once A Week Routine Skincare For Pregnant Women
Once a week, I like to use sheet masks to pamper my skin. I have several from AHC stored in the refrigerator. But on days I want to treat myself to a spa-like experience at home, I use my FOREO UFO 2. Their H2Overdose smart mask is my favorite, which is infused with hyaluronic acid.

Best Face Wash: Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser
Less is more when it comes to pregnancy-safe face wash. Clean your face twice daily with a mild, fragrance-free, soap-free face wash, like Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser. Harsher versions are more likely to irritate your skin. Plus, overstripping your skin will make you more prone to pregnancy breakouts.

Prepare For A Routine Change
For many women, skin can change significantly during pregnancy. My skin is typically quite oily, evenduring winter, but pregnancy completely balanced it out. This meant tailoring my usual regime to suit. Icould delve deeper into oils and heavier hydrators and lighten up on the exfoliation. Pregnancy skin canchange in a lot of ways, so adapt your routine accordingly.

My Favorite Pregnancy Skin Care Products
Alright, lets get real. Pregnancy is weird. In lots of ways. But when it comes to how you look and feel, its really weird. One day, youll feel like your skin is a shade of yellow and your eyes are sunken in and youre bloated and puffy and nothing fits right and the next, someone will tell you that youre glowing and your hair has grown like an inch and your nails are beautiful and strong and youll be EXCITED by the fact that you can get away with wearing nothing but cotton with no judgement for the rest of the summer. < longest sentence ever.
Anyway. Because thats the case, I relished the days where I felt glow-y. And I wanted to share with you the products that kept my skin in shape while I was pregnant. As a first time preggo last year, I didnt know where to begin. I wanted to keep my baby safe but I wanted to keep my skin together too. I was 30 when I first became pregnant, and thats not really a spring chicken. Yeah, yeah, I know its still young but those fine lines and wrinkles have been knocking at my door for years and they finally invited themselves in over recent years. I didnt want to just welcome them in while I was pregnant so I looked for skin care that was safe for my baby but good for my face.
PS A great resource to check products and their general levels of safety is EWG.org it gives you ratings and information on the products you search.

Tame Your Lustrous Locks
During pregnancy, you stop shedding hair as much as you usually would. Already having thick hair, thismeant I went a little more Hermione Granger than usual. Alas this extra volume is only temporary, so dontbe tempted to have it thinned out by your hairdresser. I used Living Proof PHD shampoo and conditioner and added a weekly smoothing treatment to keep my lockssleek and shiny. This also helped ensure my hair was more presentable when 20-minutes more sleep inevitablywon out over blow-drying. I added Bumble and bumble Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil to my ends on non-wash days to smoothout any frizz and oftentied my hair all back into a low bun.

Skincare Products To Use To Avoid Stretch Marks
Surprisingly and lucky me, I havent had an issue with stretch marks during pregnancy that I can see, anyway! Obviously keeping your skin hydrated is essential not only does that mean drinking plenty of water, but also eating nourishing and hydrating fruits and veggies, and of course, a cream or oil wont hurt. I highly recommend these products:
