What Saint To Pray With When Trying To Conceive
Early on while trying to conceive I started praying with St. Gerard Majella who is the Catholic Patron Saint of Motherhood. There is a beautiful prayer to him for motherhood that someone gave me on a prayer card. That was how my obsession with praying to the saints for fertility started- small, with a simple prayer. I also become dedicated to St. Anne early on, and then St. Therese. I definitely think that they each interceded for me and helped me have my miracle baby.

Now, my interest in fertility saints has blossomed into writing my own prayers, visiting shrines, and praying with almost a dozen saints!

No prayer to get pregnant will guarantee youll conceive a baby, but prayer can may you spiritually, physically, and emotionally stronger to deal with whatever happens.
The purpose of pregnancy prayer is to give you peace, hope, and acceptance whether or not you get pregnant. Knowing how to pray for a baby is important and so is knowing when its time to get medical advice from fertility specialists.

Praying With The Saints During Infertility
Remember that technically in Catholic tradition your are not praying TO the saints for THEIR intercessions. Instead you are asking them to intercede on your behalf to God for his action. The saints are not God- only God is God.
But, it certainly helps to bring some friends along on our prayer journey to Jesus.
I honor these saints in multiple ways. I pray with them, I keep their prayers cards, and for some of them, I have decorations up around the house in their honor. I also try to keep their memory on their feast day, and spread their word to other people who may benefit from it.
If you benefit from a prayer journey with a saint, consider spreading the word of their goodness, and the goodness of God.

Do you know someone struggling through the valley of trying to have a baby right now and you dont know what to do to help? Your sister, friend, or daughter desperately wants to have a baby, but things are harder than they ever thought they would be. You try to think of a prayer for someone trying to get pregnant.
Scriptures and prayer for a woman that is in this season of waiting to be a mother can sometimes be the only thing that can be offered. A listening ear, a hug, a meal when they are having a particularly bad day can also help, but prayer and what the word of God says can be the most constant encouragement.

Why God Granted Hannahs Prayer To Get Pregnant
Look at the parts that I bolded: Hannah didnt just give her baby to God she vowed to completely and totally set her son apart for a holy life. Then, Hannah became radiant, and she worshipped God even before her prayers to get pregnant were answered!
Hannah didnt worship God radiantly and fervently after she got pregnant. She was a woman after Gods own heart before she conceived her baby. She released her grip, she loosened her grasp, she let go of her desperate yearning to get pregnant. She prayed for a baby, but she didnt make it the center of her life, her heart, and her worship.
Hannah loved God for who He is, not what He could give her.
It wasnt that Hannah said the right things when she was praying for a baby, or that she recited a centering prayer for pregnancy that convinced God to open her womb! It was that she released her desperate grip to get pregnant. She let go of the neediness, the yearning, the clawing frenetic desire to have a baby.

This prayer is practiced by most people and is recommended by Catholics. Women who have problems with their ovaries can use this prayer. In the prayer, you can say how you are having problems with conception because of your ovaries. You can explain how you have consulted different doctors and they recommended you undergo surgery to solve the problem. Pray that God may heal you to enable you to conceive. Let God know that conceiving is one of the wishes you have been hoping to come true and that he may fulfill your wish. Women who have had problems with fertility can say this prayer. In the prayer, you can ask that you may be blessed with the miracle of a pregnancy. Pray that you are remembered, like Sarah in the Bible, and you become fertile. You can explain how for years you have been hoping for a miracle of a baby. Study Finds Prayers Helped Women Get Pregnant
N E W & nbsp Y O R K, Oct. 4, 2001 — This week, researchers at Columbia University and Cha Hospital of Korea have hesitantly stoked the fires of medicine, theology, and philosophy with an article reporting that women undergoing in vitro fertilization had higher rates of pregnancy when groups of strangers anonymously prayed for them.
Indeed, it would be a truly wonderful and life-altering phenomenon if scientists discovered that prayer alone could help us bear children or cure disease.
In fact, both self-prayer and the direct support of a religious community have been shown to improve health. Doctors and researchers speculate these religious factors influence mental and physical health by altering brain function, shifting hormone levels and boosting the immune system.
Most physicians however, remain skeptical of the curative powers of anonymous prayer.
The Study
Researchers at Columbia University conducted the study with 199 women at an in vitro fertilization clinic in Korea. Unknown to the patients and their doctors, groups of strangers from the US, Canada, and Australia were asked to pray for their success in getting pregnant.
Pictures of patients in the test group were sent to the people praying when the women began hormone treatment and prayer continued for the next three weeks. No one knew which group was which until the three weeks was up.

God,
I thank You for the blessing of my first child every day. I am so grateful that You have allowed me to become a mother once before. I am forever thankful that You have placed my firstborn into my life to raise, love, and hold forever. I pray to ask You to grant me the opportunity to be a mother to a second child.
It has been difficult to conceive this time, and I pray that You give me the strength to not give up. I want this child for my first, so they have a sibling to grow with, play with, and make memories with.
I place my faith in You and pray that You allow me to conceive for a second time.

Our Lady of Guadalupe Our Lady is of course St. Mary, mother of Jesus. People pray to her as a special helper of pregnant women and protectress of the unborn.
San Padre Pio Known as a healer, he can be prayed to for healing problems that might be affecting infertility.
Archangel Gabriel Gabriel was the angel who appeared to May to ask if she would be the mother of God. Many women pray to him to ask for pregnancy.
Saint Perpetua A martyr killed days after giving birth in prison, she is considered a patron saint of expectant mothers, but is often prayed to by women seeking pregnancy,.
