What Will Your Belly Look Like Post
If you still look five months pregnant after youve had your baby, that is completely normal, says birth consultant Janine. Yes, sometime bellies do ping back into shape but this is rare. Your belly might be more rounded, softer and squashy than before.
It can take anything from four to six weeks for your uterus to start shrinking, says baby and maternity consultant Margarita.
But if it takes longer, dont fret as this is normal. It took nine months for your skin to stretch to accommodate a full-term baby, so it makes sense that it would take that long to tighten back up, explains birth consultant Janine.
When Do You Start To Show With A Second Pregnancy
If youve been pregnant before, dont be surprised if you start showing earlier. Actually, its not uncommon to develop a baby bump in the first trimester after your first pregnancy.
A previous pregnancy can stretch your stomach muscles, and sometimes, these muscles dont return to their original size. Because of this change, a baby bump might appear earlier.

What If Youre Not Showing And Feel Like You Should Be
Even though every woman is different, you might have concerns if youre not showing yet. Understandably, you want to have a healthy baby and pregnancy. But showing a little later doesnt typically indicate a problem.
Remember, uterus position and shape, frame size, and fitness level prior to pregnancy can all contribute to when you show. And some people just never appear very pregnant. If this is you, you may be hearing scary comments from others comments you shouldnt have to endure. Trust your OBs guidance, and not what you see in the mirror, when it comes to the health of your pregnancy.
Its also possible that you simply have a smaller baby, although still healthy. If you have any concerns, though, speak with your doctor.
Babys Position And Movements In The Fifth Month
Position: The baby has a lot of free space inside the womb to move around. Hence, there is no specific position that the baby attains during this month.
Movement: The babys movements can be felt slightly by this time, like a fluttering feeling in the stomach, referred to as quickening. First-time mothers may not be able to recognize it and take it for gas in the stomach .
Eating the right food in the right amounts is essential for the health of the mother and the baby. However, it is also necessary to ensure that you stay away from foods that are not recommended for pregnant women.

Weeks 9 To 1: Your Changing Shape
Once you enter 9 weeks of pregnancy, you officially have a little fetus growing inside you! At this point, you may be wondering when your baby bump will start to show. Keep an eye out on your profile and see if you notice any slight weight gain or growth above your pelvis. By the time week 11 or 12 arrives, you may have gained around 1.5 to 4.5 pounds. But no need to worry if youâve gained more or even lost weight. Everyone is different, and morning sickness and food aversions can impact early weight gains and losses.
Thereâs potential for baby bump growth, but probably nothing too significant. The biggest change that you may notice is weight gain, which is normal at this stage.
Along with a growing belly may come some emotional changes, too. Adjusting to your new body shape typically takes time, especially when you start to store fat in your lower waist. This fat is needed for your pregnancy, but it can be emotionally challenging.
Keep in mind that body image can impact the way you feel, and that itâs normal to have a lower libido. But itâs also normal to want to have sex while pregnant, too.
Any standard early pregnancy symptoms, like nausea, vomiting, and fatigue, tend to peak during this time.
Things That Come Out Of Your Body During Labor
So you’ve survived the mood swings and the hemorrhoids, and you think your surprises are over. But the day you give birth will probably hold the biggest surprises of all.
During pregnancy, fluid surrounds your baby in the amniotic sac. This sac breaks at the start of or during labor a moment usually referred to as your water breaking. For most women in labor, contractions start before their water breaks. Sometimes the doctor has to rupture the amniotic sac .
How much water can you expect? For a full-term baby, there are about 2 to 3 cups of amniotic fluid. Some women may feel an intense urge to pee that leads to a gush of fluid when their water breaks. Others may only feel a trickling down their leg because the baby’s head acts like a stopper to prevent most of the fluid from leaking out.
Amniotic fluid is generally sweet-smelling and pale or colorless. It’s replaced by your body every 3 hours, so don’t be surprised if you continue to leak fluid, about a cup an hour, until delivery.
Other, unexpected things may come out of your body during labor. Some women have nausea and vomiting. Others have diarrhea before or during labor, and passing gas is also common. During the pushing phase of labor, you may lose control of your bladder or bowels.
A birth plan can help communicate your wishes to your health care providers about how to handle these and other aspects of labor and delivery.

Do you grab a coffee every morning, afternoon and evening? Caffeine can negatively affect your fertility. One study suggests that women who consume over 500 mg of caffeine daily take up to 9.5 months longer to get pregnant!
